Study Island

Valdosta High School Class of 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am proud to inform you of a free opportunity for your child this summer. Because, research shows that students lose three months of academic growth during summer months we are in the process of designing a web-based learning opportunity for your student to help strengthen, maintain or accelerate their math skills in preparation for the rigor of high school math next year.

To get the most out of the program I encourage you to have your student work on Study Island lessons at least twice a week.  Although, I will not physically be at the school during the summer, I will be checking email at whunter@gocats.org often so please let me know if you have any questions regarding Study Island at any time. Having your student participate will give their teacher an opportunity to learn more about your student’s skill level and needs before school starts.

Most students in our system are already familiar with using Study Island.  However, instructions to help you get your student up and running at home are listed below and will be uploaded to the Valdosta High School website at www.gocats.org/vhs . Students will be able to access the summer learning program from any home or public computer with internet access.
