There is no way around the fact that students and parents must spend time learning about and researching financial aid options for post-secondary education and the application process. Make a plan to take the time and put forth the effort required in order to become informed and prepared for the financial aid process.
Hope GPA- The HOPE GPA can be viewed by visiting www.gacollege411.com; the student must have his/her social security number. Georgia Student Finance Commission has set up a HOPE Helpline for those students who have questions regarding their HOPE GPA calculations. Please direct all questions to 1-800-505-4732 and follow the recorded prompts.
All students and parents are encouraged to complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. By completing the FAFSA and submitting it to your college choices, you will be notified of all the financial aid you are eligible for...including the HOPE program and PELL grant.
1st, Students and parents/guardians should become informed early about completing and submiting the FAFSA online. You may access the FAFSA through the GAcollege411.org account or go to FAFSA.gov. (DO NOT use the FAFSA.com site.)

2nd, once you are ready to complete the application, go to the FAFSA website.

3rd, if you need help completing the application:
1. Utilize the Help tabs on the FAFSA site. You will be given a clear explanation for each portion of the FAFSA.
1. If your student has been accepted to college, you can contact the Financial Aid department of that college. They have full time staff that are able to answer your questions.
2. You can also get information from the Georgia Student Financie Commission. You can contact them at 1-800-505-GSFC (4732). A representative is available Monday thru Friday from 9am -5:30pm to answer your questions.
